Russia is still attacking in the region, the eastern part of Ukraine, looking to control the Donetsk province. Still Ukraine is repelling some of these attacks. - Putting a stamp on nation's war effort
Russia wanted Mariupol because it is an imp cog in Ukraine's economics and this: "Capturing Mariupol gives Russia a land bridge between Ukrainian territories that it occupied illegally several years ago." Just what will Mariupol mean for Russia when in fact Russia has destroyed most of the city as described here: "Capturing Mariupol gives Russia a land bridge between Ukrainian territories that it occupied illegally several years ago." I can't help but wonder if Ukraine will take Mariupol back as it has so many other Ukrainian cities already. Putin's "victory" may be short lived. Then there's the focus on the stand where Ukrainian soldiers gave the Russian ship the finger & sank it. Concern now shifts to the treatment of Ukrainian soldiers by the Russians, considering what we know about them already. - Mariupol's fall may portend a shift in war
