Possible Extra Credit

For those of you who have COMPLETED ALL ASSIGNMENTS thus far this semester, which includes making comments on the blogs last week, something many of you did not complete, the following extra credit has been made available to you.  Read the letter that Apple's CEO, Tim Cook wrote to customers, presenting Apple's position about creating a backdoor program to allow the FBI to access data in the iPhone used by the San Bernardino terrorist in December.  

Think about the information you've gleaned from reading the handout on arguments.  Formulate a question to answer.  Think about the other tips given to you in that handout.  You may also choose to use outside sources, articles that have been popping up since Apple refused to comply.  

Your task is to analyze his argument, either defending, challenging or qualifying it. The essay must be typed and double-spaced; it is due no later than 7:30 Thursday morning, 2/25.  Both classes must comply with this stipulation, or it won't be accepted.  

For those of you who do not meet the requirements to complete this particular assignment, you might want to consider the possibility of changing your current events journal to this topic.  It is still early enough to do so, but something that must be done within the next couple weeks.

This is a good read. Judge Chutkan is on the job, fairly & unbiased. Obviously the felon is running scared. IMO this is important. Still we're standing alone. Why is this the case? We have stood with so many of you during the crises others face. Why do you now understand the Jews are Indigenous to Israel.
